Trumpeter Soryu Class – Fitting/conversion KIT (Operational fairwater/bow planes)

Description

Conversion set for the 1:144 Soryu Class Submarine by Trumpeter.

This is a version with the operational fairwater (bow planes) planes.

The set includes :

• 4 ribs for and easy mount of the 50m WTC in the Trumpeter Soryu Class model
• 4 stern dive planes/rudders
• 2 fairwater (bow) dive planes
• 4 pairs of medium magnetic connectors
• 2 X-rudder arms allowing for X-rudder system
• 1 fairwater servo arm
• 1 fairwater servo rod guide
• 1 end stop for the RCshipyards WTC
• 1 special stern rib connecting upper hull with the lower hull
• 2 different drill guides for drilling the Soryu pylons – locking mech (easier conversion to RC)
• 4 brass inserts for the pylons locking mech
• 1 screw set for the Soryu pylons locking mech
• All the necessary screws, rods and brass elements.

This is a new product – Not all of the elements have their photos yet. The list above contains all the KIT’s elements.

X-rudder arms allowing for X-rudder system with stern rib connecting stern upper hull with the lower hull:

The X-rudders/planes which come with the Trumpeter Soryu model are a solid part of the hull – non rotational. They need to be cut off. They’re also a bit to small, if you want decent manoeuvrability in your RC model. This set deals with that problem as the X-rudder planes are slightly bigger yet in a identical shape and they fit the surface of the plastic hull nicely.

Operational fairwater planes (conning tower not included):

The original fairwater diving planes which come with the Trumpeter set are top fragile to convert them to RC, also their plastic “axle”is to short to be any use. So a new set of diving planes was developed in the RCshipyard.com to allow easier RC conversion.
